School Visits
Encouraging, entertaining, and educational. That's author Gary Bower, and he wants to bring laughter and his love for books to your school or adult group. Particularly popular is the presentation about his book "I'm a Michigan Kid!", in which the hearts of his listeners are being stirred to a deeper pride in the Great Lakes State.
Gary speaks to thousands of students and adults each year, helping his audiences develop their talents, go nuts about books, and appreciate the uniqueness of others. He can tailor-make a program to suit your time frame and special needs, always incorporating his wife's artwork, his writing insights, and his many humorous experiences as the father of a dozen kids.
Every school program includes 2 exceptional PowerPoint presentations that will have your students riveted. Typically, Gary will present "How an Idea Becomes a Book" followed by your choice of one of the options below. Each fast-paced show is appropriate forALL AGES and features humor, sound effects, animation, and Gary's intriguing live commentary. Original oil paintings, Qs & As, and TONS of encouragement, motivation, and inspiration will leave your students and teachers talking for a long time!

FEES: For schools, $190/session (2 session minimum), plus 50 cents per mile roundtrip from Traverse City, Michigan. (Please understand that this rate is necessary even if Gary is visiting another school in your area, since this calculated mileage typically is used to pay for not only his transportation but also other expenses such as overnight lodging, meals, etc.) Each session lasts about 45-55 minutes. The school will receive a free copy of "I'm a Michigan Kid" and the 4-book "Thinking of Others" set.(an $85.00 value). In addition, students and teachers will be able to purchase Gary's books at a reduced rate.
State Capitol Building
During Gary's visit, he will present to your school this free 18"x24" frameable art print of our State Capitol Building in Lansing (as seen in "I'm a Michigan Kid!"). This beautiful art piece is only available to schools who host Gary Bower's author visits.
